1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Hallucinot API service ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service.

These Terms apply to all users of the Service, including API consumers, dashboard users, and any other visitors to our platform.

2. Description of Service

Hallucinot provides an AI-powered verification API that fact-checks content for accuracy. The Service uses multiple AI models and real-time data sources to identify potential inaccuracies, hallucinations, or unverifiable claims in submitted content.

Important: While our Service strives for accuracy, it is not infallible. Results should be used as guidance and not as definitive truth. Users should apply their own judgment when acting on verification results.

3. Account Registration

  • You must provide accurate and complete registration information
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials
  • You are responsible for all activities under your account
  • You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
  • One person or entity may not maintain multiple free accounts

4. API Keys and Access

  • API keys are confidential and must not be shared
  • You may generate up to 10 API keys per account
  • Compromised keys must be immediately revoked
  • We reserve the right to revoke keys that violate these Terms
  • API access is subject to rate limits based on your subscription tier

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Violate any laws or regulations
  • Submit content that is illegal, harmful, or violates third-party rights
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer or extract our AI models
  • Circumvent rate limits or usage restrictions
  • Resell or redistribute the Service without authorization
  • Submit content containing malware or malicious code
  • Use the Service to harass, defame, or harm others
  • Interfere with the operation of the Service

6. Rate Limits

The Service is subject to rate limits based on your subscription tier:

  • Trial (no subscription): 5 verifications/day
  • Starter: ~17 verifications/day (500/month)
  • Professional: ~83 verifications/day (2,500/month)
  • Enterprise: Custom limits

Exceeding rate limits will result in HTTP 429 errors. Repeated violations may result in account suspension.

7. Payment Terms

  • Subscriptions are billed monthly in advance
  • Prices are in USD and exclude applicable taxes
  • Failed payments may result in service suspension
  • No refunds for partial months after cancellation
  • Overage charges are billed at $0.15 per verification
  • You can cancel your subscription at any time via the billing portal

8. Intellectual Property

  • You retain all rights to content you submit to the Service
  • We retain all rights to the Service, including our AI models and algorithms
  • You grant us a limited license to process your content for verification purposes
  • We do not use your content to train our AI models
  • Hallucinot, our logo, and product names are our trademarks

9. Data and Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference into these Terms.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that:

  • The Service will be uninterrupted or error-free
  • Verification results will be 100% accurate
  • The Service will meet your specific requirements
  • Defects will be corrected

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, HALLUCINOT SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES.

Our total liability for any claims under these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Hallucinot, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

13. Termination

  • You may terminate your account at any time
  • We may terminate or suspend your account for violations of these Terms
  • Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately
  • We may retain your data as required by law or for legitimate business purposes

14. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes via email or through the Service. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Delaware.

16. Miscellaneous

  • Entire Agreement: These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and Hallucinot
  • Severability: If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect
  • No Waiver: Our failure to enforce any right does not waive that right
  • Assignment: You may not assign these Terms without our consent
